THE SCOUTING REPORT

 CONNECTICUT (11-4, 2-2 Big East): The Huskies are looking to bounce back from a last-second loss at Georgetown and stay above .500 in the Big East. UConn is 8-0 at home, 2-2 away and 1-2 on neutral courts…Huskies own Big East wins over Seton Hall and St. John’s. They’ve lost at Notre Dame and Georgetown and also lost to Memphis and Gonzaga…Center Thabeet is off to a strong start in league play. He had 15 points and 11 rebounds against Seton Hall, 10 blocks against Notre Dame and seven points and five blocks against Georgetown…Dyson tied a school record with 9 steals against St. John’s…Adrien leads all Big East players with 23 career double-doubles…Price is averaging 6.4 assists, 13th in the nation and his assist-turnover ratio is 3.2-to-1. Last year he owned a ratio of 1.8-to-1…Coach Jim Calhoun owns a 24-15 record against PC.

 PROVIDENCE (11-5, 2-2): The Friars hope to continue a stretch of success for the road team in this series. The road team has won the last six meetings, including an 84-72 victory in Hartford last season. Friars are 0-3 on the road this season and face a stretch of three of their next four games away from home…Xavier is the fourth PC player to lead the team in scoring at one point this season. He joins McDermott, Efejuku and McKenzie…The Friars are 6-0 when they make seven or more 3-pointers. They are 2-4 when they hit six threes in a game…McDermott is sixth in the Big East in assists (4.4), 10th in field goal percentage (54%) and 15th in rebounding (7.8).
