Friars are 4-18 against the Hoyas in D.C. but last won there in 2005. … This is first game of the season for PC against a ranked team. Friars are 93-210 all-time against ranked foes, with the last win coming last season against UConn. PC’s next foe, Marquette, is also nationally ranked. PC shot a season-best 50 percent from the 3-point line in an 87-79 win at Cincinnati on Wednesday. Friars hit 12 threes and are 7-1 when they make seven or more treys. Freshman Monroe is one of the best in the country. He won Big East Rookie of the Week honors this week after averaging 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the UConn and Pittsburgh games. He had career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds against Notre Dame. … Wright has shaken off a foot injury that cost him bulk of last season and has played well as a sophomore. … Team has struggled at times off the glass, and the lack of depth is an issue.
