Friars hope for good news today from Colvin, Lacy
06:53 AM EST on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Today is the final day of the early signing period, and the Friars are holding out hope for some good news.
PC has already signed four players but is looking for additional guard help. The Friars are in the final two, along with Iowa State, for Chris Colvin, one of the top point guards in Chicago. Colvin will announce his pick today, which just happens to be his birthday.
PC is also trying to close the deal with Johnnie Lacy, a 5-foot-10 guard at Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts. Lacy is a super-quick point guard from Milwaukee who the Friars have made a priority in recent weeks. It is unclear whether Lacy will pick a school today or wait until the spring signing period.
