SCOUTING REPORT

DARTMOUTH (0-1): The Big Green lost at Army in its season opener, 63-48, after scoring 25 points in the first half and 23 in the second. Offense shot 37 percent and 23 percent from behind the 3-point line…Coming off an ugly 10-18 season and 3-11 mark in the Ivies. Either Dartmouth or Princeton is picked to finish last in the Ivies this season…Coach Terry Dunn is in his fifth season and owns a 35-75 record. The 10 wins last season marked a high for the Green under Dunn…Got off to a strong start last season, finishing non-conference with an 8-8 record…Barnett finished fourth in the Ivies in scoring (15.6) last season…Last Ivy title came in 1959. PC legend Dave Gavitt was a starting guard on that team.

PROVIDENCE (0-1): Friars look to bounce back from a disappointing season-opening loss to Northeastern. PC was hindered by a slow first half where it shot 33 percent and managed 25 points. Offense put up 41 points in the second half but the Huskies were better, scoring 44 points on 53 percent shooting…Kale scored 15 points in the Northeastern game. He scored more than that only once (16 at Syracuse) last season…PC is 117-47 all-time against Ivy League teams…Coach Keno Davis used eight players against Northeastern and everyone saw 12 or more minutes. Bench combined for 13 points and 12 rebounds…Friars have played Dartmouth only twice since 1938. The Friars won handily in 1991 and `93. Dartmouth’s last win over PC came in 1938 in Hanover, N.H., by a 41-24 count…Fans can receive commemorative Johnny Egan key chains at tonight’s game.
