LOWELL, Mass. — Former Providence Bruin Ben Walter’s first-period goal turned out to be the winner and Jeff Frazee made 28 saves as the Lowell Devils beat the P-Bruins, 3-0, in front of 2,215 fans at the Tsongas Arena on Saturday night.

Walter scored his third goal of the year at 17:38 of the opening period, assisted by Nathan Perkovich and Vladimir Zharkov.

The Devils grabbed a 2-0 advantage 1:13 later when Patrick Davis scored an unassisted goal, his second goal of the season.

After a scoreless second period, the Devils made it 3-0 at 4:12 of the third period when Perkovich netted his second goal of the season, assisted by Zharkov and Matthew Corrente.

Just two minor penalties –– one on each team –– were called in the game, which was played in two hours, one minute.

Matt Dalton stopped 26 of 29 shots for the P-Bruins, while Frazee made 28 saves for the Devils. The P-Bruins were 0-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Bruins are 0-5 on the road this season, and have scored only 3 goals, while giving up 19.

The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend with a 4:05 contest against the Hershey Bears at The Dunk.
