Sharks hand P-Bruins first loss

WORCESTER, Mass. — T.J. Fox scored his first professional goal to snap a tie and lift the unbeaten Worcester Sharks to a 5-3 victory over the previously unbeaten Providence Bruins last night in front of 3,362 fans at the DCU Center.
Nate Radnus scored his second goal of the game into an empty net with six seconds left as the Sharks improved to 4-0.
Providence, which got a two-goal effort from Jeff Hogan, fell to 4-1. Hogan tied the game at 3-3 4:12 into the final period when he sent Wacey Rabbit’s pass past Thomas Greiss.
But former P-Bruin Dennis Packard slid a pass in front of the net to a wide open Fox, who had an easy tap-in for the game-winner at 9:01.
Hogan cut the Sharks’ lead to 3-2 at 12:40 of the second period when he converted a feed from behind the net by Byron Bitz.
Earlier in the period, Mike Iggulden and Nate Radnus scored in a span of 2:07 to provide Worcester with a 3-1 advantage.
Ashton Rome and Peteri Nokelainen traded first-period goals. Rome powered a Brad Staulitz rebound past Tuukka Rask at 13:56 before Nokelainen received a cross ice pass from Bitz and beat Greiss on a breakaway with 7.7 seconds remaining in the period.

The turning point came when Worcester scored twice in a span of 2:07 to take a 3-1 lead and force the P-Bruins to play catch-up. Both came on deflections.

Providence outshot Worcester, 42-27. It was the fifth straight game the P-Bruins have produced 30 or more shots on goal.They lead the league in shots for (180) and shots against (118).
