Pelletier directs P-Bruins to victory in overtime

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Providence Bruins got two goals from Pascal Pelletier, including the game-winner in overtime, as they pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators last night.
The P-Bruins opened up the scoring at the 3:50 mark of the first period, while on the power play. Goaltender Tuukka Rask sent the puck up the left wing to Brett Skinner and he fed Pelletier in the left face-off circle. Pelletier’s shot went off Senators netminder Brian Elliott and into the net.
In the second period, the P-Bruins made it 2-0 at the 1:54 mark. Aaron Slattengren worked the puck from behind the net to Matt Hendricks in front. Hendricks waited for Elliott to commit to the right post and then scored in the empty left side of the net for his 21st goal of the season.
At the 16:08 mark, the Senators cut the lead in half. Josh Hennessy tallied his 18th goal of the season, with Denis Hamel and Danny Bois picking up the assists.
Binghamton tied the game at 2 while on the power play at the 17:57 mark. Lawrence Nycholat netted his 12th goal of the season, while Matt Carkner and Nick Foligno recorded the assists.
After a scoreless third period, the P-Bruins scored 16 seconds into overtime. Jonathan Sigalet sent the puck up along the boards to Skinner, who was skating down the left wing. He had Pelletier cutting toward the net and sent the puck in his direction. Pelletier was able to reach his stick out and redirected the puck it into the net for his 33rd goal of the season.
Rask stopped 33 of 35 shots for the P-Bruins, while Elliott made 38 saves for the Senators. 3 2 Next Game Tonight at W-B/Scran,, 7:05 p.m.
