P-Bruins 5, Monarchs 4: Flurry in third period wins it for Providence

PROVIDENCE — Providence spotted Manchester three goals in the first period, then battled back with three goals of its own in the final 20 minutes and defeated the Monarchs, 5-4, Sunday at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
The Monarchs got their first-period goals from Brandon Segal (at the 4:26 mark while on the power play), Bud Holloway (6:45) and Corey Elkins (at 10:38).
Providence cut the lead to two at the 10:59 mark when Brad Marchand put a shot on goal and Jamie Arniel redirected it for his sixth goal of the season.
The P-Bruins made it 3-2 at the 2:18 mark of the second period. Craig Weller found Adam McQuaid at the blue line, and his blast went into the back of the net.
The Monarchs regained a two-goal lead at the 4:21 mark on a short-handed score by Joe Piskula.
In the third period, the P-Bruins tallied at the 7:43 mark. Guillaume Lefebvre found McQuaid at the blue line, and he scored his second goal of the game.
Providence tied it at four at the 8:34 mark when Marchand fed Kirk MacDonald in the slot.
The P-Bruins took their first lead of the game at the 19:12 mark. Marchand passed to Andrew Bodnarchuk in the left faceoff circle, and he scored his first goal of the season, the game winner.
