FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Rochester was hitless for five innings before exploding for six runs in the sixth as the Red Wings beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 7-4, yesterday.
Lenny DiNardo pitched four perfect innings for the PawSox, striking out three and retiring eight on ground balls. Tim Bausher came on in relief and retired the first four batters he faced before allowing the next six to reach and score.
Shawn Wooten had three hits for Pawtucket, including two opposite-field doubles off the wall. Kelly Shoppach added an RBI double, Dave Berg had an RBI single and catcher Jeff Bailey had a solo homer.
The PawSox will face Double-A Portland in exhibition games today and tomorrow. The regular season begins Thursday.
