FOXBORO -- Patriots rookie running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis couldn't have picked a better game for his coming-out party: in the national spotlight on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos in a 41-7 Patriots victory.

Green-Ellis was part of a Patriots offensive attack that racked up 260 rushing yards, the franchise's most since Dec. 22, 1985.

Green-Ellis, who was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Oct. 11, carried the ball 13 times for 65 yards and scored his first career touchdown.

"I just tried to go out and do my job," Green-Ellis said. "The offensive line, the fullbacks and the tight ends and all of those guys did an excellent job of blocking up front, and I just tried to run through the holes that they opened up for me."

The Patriots signed Green-Ellis as an undrafted rookie free agent, out of the University of Mississippi, on May 2.

"I was just happy that I could contribute," Green-Ellis said. "Like I said, the guys up front and the tight ends and fullbacks made my job easier -- just run through the holes, run behind my pads and get as many yards as I can for the team."
