New England Patriots
Belichick addresses decision to release Chad Jackson
08:08 AM EDT on Tuesday, September 2, 2008
FOXBORO -- Speaking about Chad Jackson, the former second-round pick New England released on Sunday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said there are things Jackson does better than some of the receivers the team kept, but of course things he did not do as well as others.
Belichick added that it wouldn’t surprise him if Jackson went on to play well for another team, but ended with, “We kept the guys that deserve to be on the team.”
Jackson was not claimed by another team off the waiver wire, meaning he is a free agent. Scout.com reported yesterday that Jackson would visit with Oakland.
