After the game, Tomlinson distressed and angry

SAN DIEGO -- Just like that, a magical season ended with a familiar scenario -- the Chargers done for the season.
And it was enough to put someone regarded as one of the NFL's classiest players on edge.
Upset that some Patriots were dancing on the Chargers logo at midfield after they had silenced the record crowd of 68,810 at Qualcomm Stadium and wrecked the Chargers' season, which included an NFL-best 14-2 record and 8-0 home mark in the regular season, LaDainian Tomlinson went after an unidentified Patriot on the field after the game. For good measure, he bashed Pats coach Bill Belichick during his postgame press conference.
``You all know me. I'm a class individual,'' Tomlinson said. ``I would never react in that way. I was very upset.
``When you go to the middle of our field and start doing the dance Shawne Merriman is known for, to me that is disrespectful. They showed no class, absolutely no class, and maybe that comes from the head coach.''
Merriman, nicknamed ``Lights Out,'' did a spasmodic dance to celebrate each of his NFL-high 17 sacks this season. Many of them, of course, came on the road, meaning Merriman oftentimes did his dance on someone else's home field ... an irony apparently lost on Tomlinson.
Television cameras caught part of Tomlinson's confrontation with several Pats players, one of whom was former San Diego teammate Reche Caldwell. ``You're better than that,'' one of them repeatedly told him.
