FOXBORO -- Kevin Faulk isn't flashy, and he isn't really big.

But he's consistent and he consistently produces, and that means a lot when you play for the New England Patriots. The team's second-round draft pick in 1999 out of Louisiana State, Faulk finished his career in the Southeastern Conference second only to Georgia's Herschel Walker in career rushing yards (4,557) and rushing touchdowns (46) in the league record books.

Faulk grew up in Carencro, La., a small town about 60 miles from Baton Rouge, where he played for the Tigers, and was deeply moved by Hurricane Katrina's impact on his home state. Last year, among of his efforts to support those displaced by the hurricane were two trips to Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod, where he and other Pats players, including fellow Louisiana native Jarvis Green, delivered clothing and visited with the evacuees.

Already New England's all-time leader in kickoff returns -- he has 169 for 3,808 yards and 2 touchdowns -- Faulk became the team's career leader in receptions by a running back in the game against Chicago. With 37 catches for 286 yards this season, including a memorable, diving touchdown grab against Buffalo in Week One, Faulk stands at 270 receptions, totaling 2,365 yards in eight NFL seasons.

Here's this week's Who I Am.

Three things I believe: In God, in honesty, and in respecting others.

My favorite offday activity: Playing video games or being with my family (he has two sons, 10 and 5, and an 11-year old daughter).

My first CD: I can't remember. I guess it wasn't that memorable. But I remember by first video cassette was Purple Rain.

My first concert: It was Keith Sweat (a late-1980s, early-1990s R&B singer).

My first car: Man, I had so many old things. A lot of pieces of junk that would run two months and break, so I'd have to get a new one.

The last time I cried: Last week. I'm an emotional person.

My favorite meal: Ribs and chicken.

If I wasn't in the NFL: I'd be coaching. High school, not the NFL. I want my nights and weekends.

One job I wouldn't want: Being a drug dealer.

A talent I don't have that I'd like to have: Being a mechanic. There's always something to do as a mechanic.
