Explanation, please!

I was very surprised and disappointed to read that The Journal gave its endorsement for approval of the Harrah's-Narragansett casino, Question 1 ("Allow a third casino," Oct. 22). This is a complete reversal of its previous position that was stated on many occasions. What is perplexing is that The Journal makes no mention of its previous positions and why it has reversed its opinion.
What is going on here?? I am expecting The Journal to explain why it has changed its opinion. Is it because advertising revenue, current and future, has influenced its position? The Journal owes an explanation to the citizens of Rhode Island, or it is no better than those who have been the object of their reporting for participating in back-room deals.
