Letters to the editor
Misspellings, misnomers, other errors: Ha!
01:00 AM EDT on Friday, July 21, 2006
I found three misprints in the July 13 Journal:
-- On page B-1, the caption over the photo of the sewer problem in Middletown included normalcy. This is not a word. Just because a president -- one of our "lamer" ones, Warren Harding -- coined it, doesn't make it correct. After all, one of our lamer vice presidents tried to tell us there was an e in potato.
-- On page D-1, the caption beneath the photograph of the two people from Thailand reads: ". . . to help rebuild fishing villages demanded by the 2004 tsunami" (italics mine). I believe the word you intended was either demolished or destroyed.
-- On page E-11, under "More good stuff," the heading "FERRYS" appears. Apparently someone forgot the plural of ferry is ferries!
Thanks for giving me a laugh . . . at your expense.
