Saul Ricklin: Consequences
01:00 AM EDT on Sunday, May 11, 2008
If you are tired of letters about taxes, immigration, politics, etc., I offer this strictly for amusement:
“If the puffer-fish liver can’t kill you, is it still a delicacy” (May 4) reminds me of my business visit to Japan many years ago. My Japanese friend took me to a restaurant for a meal of the potentially deadly poisonous but delicious fish.
Providing little comfort to me, he said seriously, “Do not worry, Mr. Ricklin. If anything happens to you, the chef will lose his special license.”
