Paula Ruisi: Hurray for the House!

Passage by the House of the health-care bill was an historic success after decades of efforts by many. I want to thank Rhode Island Rep. Jim Langevin and the other 219 members of Congress who supported this bill.
Kudos to Rep. Anh Cao ( R.-La.) for voting as per his constituents’ wishes and not folding to his party’s agenda and/or pressure from industry lobbyists. I understand his constituency voted for Obama and he was doing his job by voting in support of HR 3962. Hopefully those House members who voted against the bill will be as responsible and vote in support of reform in the final House vote.
Finally our government has given the power back to the people where it belongs. I trust our Senate will do the same.
