JOSEPH M. MAHER, 38, of Cedar Pond Drive, a sales representative/manager and member of the Air National Guard, died unexpectedly Monday at home.
Born in Warwick, a son of M. Frances (O'Neill) Maher of Warwick and Florida, and the late Edward R. Maher, he had lived in Warwick all his life. Mr. Maher was an Internet sales representative/manager at Paul Bailey Ford, East Greenwich, for three years.
A major in the Air National Guard Reserve, he had been a member of the Guard since 1988. He was a veteran of Desert Storm.
He was a graduate of Hendricken High School, Class of 1983, and the Parks College of Aviation at St. Louis University, Class of 1987.
Besides his mother, he leaves two brothers, Edward R. Maher of Carlsbad, Calif., and James H. Maher of Moore, Okla.; a sister, Michaela F. Maher of Warwick; and his fiancee, Janice Treutelaar of Tujunga, Calif.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., with prayers of final commendation at 10 in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, Fair Street.
