Classifieds search tips

Using keywords well
Type a word or phrase that you expect will appear in the ad you seek -- called a keyword(s) -- in the search field. Follow these rules to make your search more specific:
  • To search for multiple words, leave a space between each word, which will imply the word "and." For example, if you specify computer programmer, the search engine will return all ads that contain the words computer and programmer.
  • To search for a specific phrase, place words inside of quotation marks. For example, if you type "computer programmer", the search engine will return ads that have the words computer and programmer in succession.

Timing of ads online as of January 2002
Classifieds go online at 4 a.m. on the same day as publication in The Providence Journal newspaper. All classifieds that appear in the newspaper also appear on projo.com.

They are updated every 24 hours and are available for seven days. When an ad runs more than one day, that ad will be available online for seven days after the last date of publication.

Ads may also run for different lengths of time in additional features offered by projo.com advertising partners.
