3 diseases added to Agent Orange list
Relying on an independent study by the Institute of Medicine, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki has established a service-connection for Vietnam War veterans who have three specific illnesses that have an association with the herbicides referred to as Agent Orange.

VA center dedicates new MRI suite
The Providence VA Medical Center on Chalkstone Ave. will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite Monday, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place in building 1 in Room 162. Guest speakers will include U.S. Sen. Jack Reed and U.S. Representatives Patrick Kennedy and James Langevin.

W.W. II veterans offered D.C. trip
The Archway 2009 World War II Veterans Honor Tour will take place Nov. 10-11 for 48 selected veterans, who will visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
