Car hits pole, 2 teens killed

LINCOLN -- Two teenagers died early yesterday when the car in which they were passengers struck a utility pole in front of 125 Higgins Ave., according to the police.
The driver of the car, also a teenager, had to be extricated by rescue workers and was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital, Providence, with serious but not life-threatening injuries, the police said.
Firefighters and rescue workers from Lincoln and Central Falls responded to the accident at 12:12 a.m..
The police said the accident is under investigation. They would not identify either the two teenagers who died or the driver, saying their families needed to be notified first.
