Electric Boat worker killed in accident
NORTH KINGSTOWN — An employee of Electric Boat was fatally injured in an accident at the submarine builder’s Quonset Point plant shortly before 7:30 Wednesday morning, a corporate spokesman said.
The employee, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Kent Hospital, in Warwick, said spokesman Robert A. Hamilton.
Electric Boat is cooperating in an investigation by the North Kingstown police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, a company statement said.
