Providence lawyer McKenna marries Cianci’s ex-wife
01:00 AM EDT on Friday, October 30, 2009
PROVIDENCE — Outspoken Providence lawyer Keven A. McKenna on Sunday married Sheila A. Bentley, ex-wife of former Mayor Vincent A. Cianci Jr.
Providence Municipal Court Chief Judge Frank Caprio married the couple at an outdoor ceremony at the Metacomet Country Club in East Providence. About 150 friends and family attended.
McKenna and Bentley had been engaged since May 2008.
McKenna, 64, is a former state representative. He made an unsuccessful run for Providence mayor in 1984, after Cianci was forced to resign in the wake of his felony conviction for beating up a man he believed was having an affair with his then-estranged wife.
Bentley, 69, and Cianci were divorced in June 1983, and she resumed her maiden name.
