Coast Guard assists in pair of rescues

In separate incidents yesterday, the Coast Guard rescued two people in distress in the area of Point Judith, a spokesman said.
In one incident, a Coast Guard crew assisted Narragansett police in rescuing a Warwick man who fell off the Point Judith Breachway jetty, a spokesman said. The man was taken to a hospital, but neither the Coast Guard nor the police had further information.
In the second incident, a Coast Guard crew transported a woman who fell and injured her head on board a sailboat from Cheshire, Conn., to shore, where she was sent to a hospital. No further information was available.
