Union hams up protest
01:00 AM EST on Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Members of Local 99, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, including one in a pig costume, held a protest in Providence yesterday. The workers were protesting the E.W. Burman construction company’s employment of nonunion workers and failure to pay workers the standard wages for electricians. The protesters started at the GTECH building, moved to the State House, and then on to a building where the company is working.
