Roger Williams Medical Center will hold the last session in its Mini Medical School on Wednesday. Dr. Joseph Lifrak will present navigation technology in orthopedic surgery. The free session will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the hospital’s Kay Auditorium. Call (401) 456-2323.

Current Concepts: Issues in Perinatal and Neonatal Care, a professional conference, will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza at the Crossings, Warwick. The conference addresses specific high-risk perinatal and neonatal problems and the impact recent medical and technological advances have had on the care and outcomes of high-risk patients. The annual Dr. Irving M. Rosen Memorial Lecture, “New Directions on Cognitive Behavior Therapy,” will be held Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ray Conference Center, Butler Hospital. Leslie Sokol, director of education at Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, will discuss the cognitive model for identifying and treating depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance abuse, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Cost is $60 (includes lunch and three continuing education credits for physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental-health counselors and therapists).
