01:00 AM EDT on Monday, August 18, 2008
PROVIDENCE — The police said yesterday that they are investigating the city’s 10th homicide of the year, a Providence man who died in Rhode Island Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds while seated in a car on Clym Street late Saturday.
The police identified the shooting victim as Leonardo Manzano, 19.
Details were sparse. The police said that cruisers were dispatched to Clym Street at about 9:50 p.m., but then were directed to the hospital after a report that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at the emergency room.
Clym Street runs between Admiral Street and Douglas Avenue, near the Chad Brown Public Housing Project.
