Police identify woman who died

The Pawtucket police have identified a woman who was found unconscious Tuesday night on West Avenue and later died as Patricia Tremblay, 30, of 8 George St.

Tremblay was found lying partially on the street and partially on the sidewalk near Main Street, according to Maj. Arthur Martins of the Pawtucket Police. She was found around 7 p.m., according to the police. She died on the way to the hospital.

Martins said there did not appear to be foul play.

Student pleads not guilty in racism incident

A University of Rhode Island student pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that resulted from an Oct. 21 incident in which, URI police said, racial slurs were drawn on whiteboards in a residential hall.

Eric Muroski, 18, of Southington, Conn., entered the plea before Judge Edward J. Clifton in District Court, Wakefield. The defendant was released pending a court appearance on Nov. 18, according to Officer Debra Sheldon of the URI police, the department’s arraigning officer.

CRANSTON

Driver faces felony counts in crash

Police have lodged additional charges against a driver whose car struck a house on Sunday. Col. Marco Palombo, chief of the Cranston police, said on Wednesday that John Viveiros, 20, of Providence, now faces four felony counts of driving to endanger, injury resulting.
