Pedestrian fatally struck on Route 95

PROVIDENCE –– The state police were investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian struck by a car on Route 95 last night.
The accident after 10 p.m. tied up traffic on Route 95 north, just past the Route 146 split.
State troopers directed traffic around the accident scene in the far-left lane of the highway, where a van from the medical examiner’s office was parked, and the body of the accident victim lay on a stretcher.
The state troopers and investigators from the medical examiner’s office cleared the scene by 10:50 p.m.
