•Johnson & Wales University will hold an information night for its continuing education and graduate school programs on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Yena Center, 111 Dorrance St., Providence.
Prospective business, hospitality, technology, culinary and pastry arts students may register in the admissions office. For more information on undergraduate programs call the continuing education admissions office at (401) 598-2300 or e-mail ce@admissions.jwu.edu.
The Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School Information Night will take place in the Graduate Admissions office, 265 Harborside Blvd., Providence. For more information, call (401) 598-1015; visit www.jwu.edu/admiss/events/grad.htm or e-mail admissions.grad@jwu.edu.
•The University of Rhode Island’s Special Programs for Talent Development will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a series of special events planned for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2.
The Friday events include a golf outing (for more information, contact Walter Morgan at (401) 258-1669 or e-mail morgan.walter@hotmail.com) and a Black Repertory Theatre performance from 7 to 9 p.m. (for more information, visit www.blackrep.org).
Saturday events include a tour of the Kingston campus and lunch at the new Hope Commons. The cost will be $7 per person. There will also be an anniversary dinner dance Saturday evening from 5 to midnight at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston. Tickets are $50 per person (this price includes a $10 donation to the Leo DiMaio Scholarship Fund).
