PROVIDENCE — A statewide grand jury on Friday handed up an indictment naming an East Providence man on five counts of first-degree sexual assault and a single count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Timothy Wallace, 24, of 27 Cooper St., East Providence, allegedly committed the first sexual assault between Jan. 1, 2006, and March 18, 2008. The four additional sexual assaults and assault with a dangerous weapon allegedly occurred this year between March 10 and March 18, the state attorney general’s office said in a news release.
The release also said the dangerous weapon used was a hammer and all the alleged incidents occurred in East Providence.
The East Providence Police Department, which conducted the investigation, declined to release any further information. Wallace will be arraigned in Superior Court on Sept. 17.
