Brushfires burned along an estimated 2½-mile swath on the northbound side of Route 95 in Attleboro on Saturday, near the Rhode Island line. No injuries or damage to personal property such as homes were reported.
The first call to the Attleboro Fire Department came in at about 12:46 p.m., according to an Attleboro fire dispatcher. First reports were for fire burning near exit 2 in southern Attleboro.
Fire departments from neighboring communities assisted, including Pawtucket, which sent at least one pump truck. The Bristol County, Mass., Task Force sent six tankers and three engines. Also helping were vehicles, including brush trucks from North Attleboro, Mansfield, Norton and Lakeville in Massachusetts.
