Chafee family members
Senator Chafee was the son of the late John Sharpe Chafee and Janet Hunter Chafee.
Besides his wife, Virginia Coates Chafee, he is survived by four sons, Zechariah Chafee, of Providence, Lincoln D. Chafee, of Warwick, John H. Chafee, of Los Angeles and Quentin G. Chafee, of Saunderstown; and one daughter, Georgia Nassikas, of McLean, Va.; three sisters, Janet C. Cushman, of Montreal, Susan C. Welch, of Bethany, Conn., and Alexandra C. Reynolds, of Wakefield.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Nicholas, Tribbie, Alexander and Cyrus, children of Georgia and John Nassikas; Quentin, Cameron and Ben, children of Quentin and Melissa Chafee; Louisa, Caleb and Thea Chafee, children of Lincoln and Stephanie Chafee and Zechariah and Sam, children of Zechariah and Lee Chafee.
