Rocker Elton John’s Red Piano to visit R.I.
01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, July 3, 2008

The Elton John Red Piano is on a national tour and will be in Middletown for three weeks. The piano is signed by John and it actually plays (and sings) his greatest hits.
You can hear Elton John sing and play piano in Middletown this month. But you won’t see him.
The Piano Gallery of Rhode Island, 238 East Main Rd., is one stop on the traveling tour of the Elton John Red Piano. It’s a player piano, which, of course, is red. It’s also programmed to play some of John’s greatest hits: “Tiny Dancer,” “Your Song,” “Rocket Man” and “Candle in the Wind.” A recording of Elton John’s voice is played in sync with the piano.
You can request a show by visiting the piano store, tomorrow through July 28, during its business hours: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
