Scott Caan to play title role in ‘Paz’

Scott Caan, who co-starred in the Ocean’s Eleven movie series and in Michael Corrente’s Brooklyn Rules, has been signed to play boxing champion Vinny Paz in Paz, the inspirational story of the boxer’s comeback from a car wreck.
Producer Chad Verdi, who is in partnership with director Michael Corrente to make five films in Rhode Island, the first being Paz, called Caan “the Hollywood version of Vinny Paz.”
Described as “muscular, swaggering and tough” in his Internet Movie Database bio, this son of actor James Caan is also reported to be 5’5” tall. Paz’s height is given at 5’7 1/2.”
Also signed for the film are Jerry Ferrara, of the HBO series Entourage, who will play Paz’s best friend, and Joey Fatone, a member of ’N Sync, who will play a member of Team Paz. Ferrara and Fatone were also featured in Brooklyn Rules.
The film is expected to go before the cameras in Rhode Island in early 2010.
