Fishing Club Banquet: The Somerset Progressive Fishing Club would like to remind its members of the upcoming Club Banquet which will be held Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Venus DeMilo Restaurant. The club will be handing out its awards to the winners in all fishing categories as well as holding elections of the new officers and committees members.

Alternative high school: The Somerset Community Evening School is an alternative high school diploma program for students who were not successful in the regular day time high school setting. It is also an opportunity for young adults or any adult who never finished their high school requirements to finally get their high school diploma. It offers small classes five days a week at Somerset High School. The next semester starts Feb. 2. For information or to enroll, call (508) 324-3146. Registrations are taking place in the Community School Office.

Mobile Health Van: Each month, Southcoast Hospitals Group offers free screenings, including blood pressure, total cholesterol, blood glucose, pregnancy testing, colorectal screening kits and medical referrals through its Mobile Health Van.

In Somerset, a blood drive and screening will be held Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Dunkin’ Donuts, 1073 GAR Highway.
