REHOBOTH –– Two men were arrested when cocaine was discovered in their car Monday night, according to the police.
At 9:10 p.m., patrolman Craig Forget stopped a rental car and discovered the driver, identified as Luis Rojos, 21, of 293 Waverly St., Providence, was not authorized to drive it. Using a police dog, a search of the car was performed during which Forget discovered 47 grams of cocaine in the car’s console, the police said.
Both Rojos and his passenger, Jose D. Munoz, 27, of 114 Garfield St., Central Falls, were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act. They were arraigned in Taunton District Court yesterday.
Rojos has no prior violations, but Munoz has been arrested for possession of marijuana, Forget said.
The car was initially stopped for a traffic violation.
