Art sale: The Graphic Design Club, in conjunction with the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), will hold a holiday art sale Dec. 2 and 3, in UMass Dartmouth’s Woodland Commons Community Center, 285 Old Westport Rd., North Dartmouth.
In addition to artwork from a variety of media, the event will feature musical performances by the CVPA music department and will have children’s activities sponsored by the CVPA art education department. Proceeds will benefit the student clubs and organizations of the CVPA.

Screening program: Charlton Memorial Hospital will host a free screening program for local residents age 60 and older who may be at risk for vascular disease and stroke, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at New Boston Medical Center, 373 New Boston Rd. The program will offer three free screening exams to qualifying community members. The exams encompass serious conditions that lead to vascular disease and stroke: peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, and abdominal aortic aneurysm.
People who are 60 or older and have at least one risk factor for vascular disease: smoking, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, or family history of abdominal aortic aneurysm, should call (866) 220-7283 for a brief evaluation that will confirm whether they qualify for a free screening. The screenings are by appointment only and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Charlton Memorial Hospital will be providing the screening in collaboration with Life Line Screening.
Christmas bazaar and chicken cordon bleu supper: Congregational Christian Church of Somerset’s Ways and Means Committee will hold its annual Christmas bazaar Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The chicken cordon bleu supper will be served at 6 p.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall, 1411 County St. Admission to the supper is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 5 to 12. Anniversary celebration and more: The Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Rd., will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Hazel Tripp Senior Center on Dec. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Also, the council is planning its holiday fair for Dec. 4 to Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Those who have items for the sale should call (508) 636-1026 before dropping them off. Clothing and toys will not be accepted. A bake sale will be held Dec. 6.
