Ballet: Dance Prism will present its 24th annual production of The Nutcracker on Sunday at 1 and 5 p.m. at the Margaret L. Jackson Arts Center at Bristol Community College.
Dance Prism’s Nutcracker production brings to the stage the full spectrum of magical wonders for which the ballet is cherished — falling snow, a growing Christmas tree, a reindeer-drawn sleigh, and angels floating on billowing clouds. It features a cast of 140 performers from five states, including both the professional dancers and a cadre of talented children. Dancing to Tchaikovsky’s music are the familiar Nutcracker figures — crystal snowflakes and candy flowers, soaring Russian dancers and exotic Arabians, giant mice and porcelain dolls.
Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling (508) 978-371-1038 or visiting www.danceprism.com. Admission is $16 for children and elderly, $22 for adults; discounts are available for groups.
