Low-cost workshop: The low-cost workshop, Take Action for Success — Business Tactics for a Bad Economy, will be held at the Venus de Milo restaurant, 75 G.A.R. Highway, in Swansea, Sept. 11.
The workshop begins with a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a program from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The workshop is open to all established companies in the area.
The cost is $10 per attendee for chamber members and $15 for all others. Seating is limited and registration is required. Call Tammi Jacobsen, at the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center, at 673-9783 to register or go to www.msbdc.org/semass/training.html by Sept. 4.
Fall River
Yard sale tables: Tables are available to rent to participate in a yard sale benefiting The Spindle City Ballet. The yard sale will be held Sept. 20 in the Spindle City Ballet parking lot.
Six-foot tables are $5 per table. Man your table and donate half your profits to the ballet. Those renting are responsible for the removal of unsold items at the end of the day.

Eat Cheap Y Family Night: Newman YMCA, 472 Taunton Ave., will host its fourth monthly Eat Cheap Y Family Night tonight from 5:30 to 7. The evening provides an opportunity for families to come together, enjoy an inexpensive meal, and engage in some healthy and fun activities.
Each event has hosted more than 40 families. The cost is $3 for YMCA members and $6 for nonmembers. Registration is required.
Food for the evening will be provided by Rehoboth’s House of Pizza.
Somerset
Fish Club: Somerset Progressive Fishing Club members interested in the interclub blue fish tournament that will be held the weekend of Sept. 6 and 7, need to sign up for the tournament. The club has a blue fish charter Sept. 6 and a cod fish charter Sept. 27 that needs to be finalized at the club’s Tuesday meeting.
Swansea
Flea market: The Friends of the Bluffs Ocean Grove Neighborhood Association Inc. has extended an invitation to all nonprofit organizations to participate in its Ocean Grove Neighborhood Days outdoor flea market. Each participating organization will get a free flea market space for the day.
The flea market will be held Sept. 6 with yard sales both Sept. 6 and 7. For more information, to reserve a flea market space, or to register your yard/garage sale, call the FOBOGNA infoline at 678-7000 and leave a message.
