Theater performance: The Little Theatre of Fall River continues its annual Firebarn subscription season with the thriller Wait Until Dark. Performances are July 17 to 19 and 24 to 26 at 8 p.m.; and July 20 and 27 at 7 p.m. All performances will be in the Firebarn, at Prospect Street and Highland Avenue, in Fall River.
Tickets are $16. Discounts are available for students, seniors and children. For reservations and information, call the Little Theatre box office at 675-1852 or visit the theater’s Web site at www.littletheatre.net.
During the theater’s July and August performances, Little Theatre Cares will be collecting school supplies for the Department of Social Services which will be distributed before the start of the school year. The troupe is asking for backpacks, number 2 pencils, pens, erasers, colored markers, colored pencils, crayons, safety scissors, glue sticks, notebooks, rulers and dictionaries. The collection box will be in the Firebarn Lobby; check with the lobby staff if you have questions.
Chamber of Commerce: Attleboro Area Chamber of Commerce will host Round Table Referrals Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Canterbury Woods, 100 Garfield Ave., Attleboro.
The program is open to any interested businessperson and is an opportunity to showcase business and develop contacts for referrals.
The fee for Chamber members is $8, nonmembers fee is $20. Register by calling the Chamber office at 222-0801 or online at the Chamber’s Web site, www.attleborochamber.com.
A meeting of the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance will be held Thursday at the Attleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, 42 Union St., Attleboro, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no charge to attend the meeting. Call the Chamber at 222-0801 to register.
Lecture series: The Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth announced the second lecture in its summer program in Portuguese Cultural Series will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m., in the Browsing Area of the Claire T. Carney Library, 285 Old Westport Rd, North Dartmouth.
The lecture, titled “Stranded Empires and Interrupted Nations: Nationhood and Ethnicity in Mozambique,” will be given by Prof. Luis Madureira, of the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
