New novel: The Friends of the Fall River Public Library will host Joseph Roderick as he discusses his new novel, Murder of a Parish Priest, today at 7 p.m. in Fall River Public Library’s main meeting room, 104 North Main St.

Garden Club meeting: The Fall River Garden Club will meet , 7 tonight in Union United Methodist Church, 600 Highland Ave. The meeting’s program will be “Healthy City Initiative,” by Dr. David Weed, director of Healthy City. Guests are welcome.
Cat adoption: The Faxon Animal Rescue League will hold a cat adoptathon Saturday through Nov. 18 at Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St.
During this week only, adoption fees will be $100 for a pair. They come with shots, spay or neuter surgery, flea and deworming medications and a 4-pound bag of food. Call (508) 676-1061, ext. 103, for more information.
Business Association meeting: The Rehoboth Business Association will meet Nov. 14 at Hillside Country Club, 82 Hillside Ave. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas Faire: Somerset United Methodist Church, 831 Read St., will hold its annual Olde Fashioned Christmas Faire in Almy Hall, tomorrow from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome.
Crafting Group: The Creative Crafting Group at Congregational Christian Church of Somerset, 1411 County St., will hold a mini craft sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Some of the sale items will include knitted, crocheted and sewn items along with homemade decorative door wreaths, candy, baked goods, handcrafted and miscellaneous gift items.
Report cards: Joseph Case High School will issue first-term report cards to students’ today.
Italian buffet: First Christian Congregational Church of Swansea, GAR Highway and Maple Avenue, will hold an Italian buffet tomorrow between 4:45 and 7 p.m.
The menu will include tossed salad, lasagna, stuffed shells, chicken Parmesan, ziti with meatballs, Italian sausage, garlic bread and rolls, spumoni ice cream and assorted beverages. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 10 and takeout will be available. Tickets are available at the door or at the church office in advance.
Veterans’ Day ceremony: A ceremony honoring Swansea veterans will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Town Hall, 81 Main St.
The annual event, sponsored by the American Legion Post 303, will include a traditional wreath placing and color guard ceremony Awards will be given to the top three contestants in the Case Junior High School “What Veteran’s Day Means To Me” essay contest.
If it rains, the ceremony will be held in post building on Ocean Grove Avenue.
