Theater performance: Bristol Community College Theatre Rep will stage Lanford Wilson’s Book of Days in the Bristol Community College Jackson Arts Center, 777 Elsbree St., tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, and $5 for students and seniors. Old World Dinner: The 15th annual Old World Dinner, sponsored by the Deutsche Kulturverein, Inc. of Bristol County, will be held Saturday at The Liberal Club, 20 Star St. A traditional German dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by dancing. Music will be provided by The Vagabonds. A bake sale, German import tables and raffles will also be featured. Reservations are required. Tables of 8 to 10 are available. Annual holiday bazaar: St. Anthony of the Desert, 300 N. Eastern Ave., will hold its annual holiday bazaar and food fest Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bazaar will include Lebanese food, pastry prepared by the parish’s ladies, a white elephant table, books and children’s coats. Opera Club news: The South Coast Opera Club will meet at the Fellowship Hall at First Congregational Church, at Rock and Cherry streets, at 2:30 p.m., Sunday. Participants are asked to use the Cherry Street side door. The meeting will feature opera selections with soprano Melynda Davis. Refreshments will be served. There is a $5 fee for non-members and students are admitted free.
Turkey shoot: The Knights of Columbus 12380, Monsignor Prevost of Notre Dame, will hold its sixth annual Turkey Shoot raffle or roll off Sunday in Notre Dame Church Hall, 529 Eastern Ave. Food and soft drinks will be available. Book signing and honors: James D. Hornfisher, author of The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, will be visiting Battleship Cove, 5 Water St., Saturday for a discussion and signing of his latest book, Ship of Ghosts: The Story of the USS Houston, FDR’s Legendary Lost Cruiser. The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Student Orientation Center on board the Battleship Massachusetts, followed by a second reading at 3 p.m. for the USS Cruiser Association. Copies of both books will be available for sale. The event is free with paid general admission. Members and cruiser sailors are exempt from cost.
Thanksgiving service: The Rehoboth Congregational Church will hold a Thanksgiving service with the Baptist Church of All Nations Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Rehoboth church, Locust Street. Offerings that evening will go to offset expenses for the church’s New Orleans-bound disaster relief team.
America Recycles Day: An America Recycles Day celebration will be held at Seekonk Public Library, 410 Newman Ave., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Among the event’s features, Seekonk will have compost bins and rain barrels for sale, a “trash to treasure” craft area and a cell phone recycling collection.
Thanksgiving at the Council on Aging: The Somerset Council on Aging, 115 Wood St., will offer traditional turkey dinners to the elderly on the holiday. To request a meal, call the Council on Aging at (508) 646-2833 by tomorrow. The council office and transportation program will be closed Thanksgiving Day and reopen Nov. 27, at 9 a.m.
Thanksgiving at Council on Aging: The Swansea Council on Aging is looking for donations and nonperishable goods for families in town who may not be able to have a traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Canned goods, nonperishable foods and gift cards can be dropped off at the council office, 458 Ocean Grove Ave., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at Swansea Fire Department Station 2, Gardners Neck Road. Money donations will be used to buy turkeys. Make checks payable to the Swansea Community Food Basket Program, P.O. Box 11, Swansea, MA, 02777. Notate “holidays” on the check.
The Council on Aging is seeking volunteers to sort through donations and make up food baskets, and to help deliver hot meals to shut-ins on Thanksgiving Day. To volunteer, call Swansea Council on Aging at (508) 676-1831.

Ecology walk: A forest ecology walk with Rupert Grantham of Walden Forest Conservation will be held Saturday. Grantham will discuss the nature of our forests while strolling through private woodland. The group will meet at the Westport River Watershed Alliance office, 1151 Main Rd., Westport, at 9:45 a.m. Call outreach coordinator Jen Marshall at (508) 636-3016, to reserve your spot. The event’s fee is $5 for members, $7 for others.
