Pig roast: Dighton Dandi Lions will hold a pig roast Sunday at 2 p.m., in back of Town Hall, Route 138. Tickets are $15 each. For tickets call 880-2588 or 824-8080.

Golf tournament: A Wish Come True will hold its 16th annual Shot in the Dark golf tournament at Firefly Golf Club, 320 Fall River Ave., Seekonk, Wednesday. Fall River

Safe and Sound Saturdays: The Fall River Boys & Girls Club has received a $10,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. The money will be used to fund the club’s Safe and Sound Saturdays program, which increases access to the club over the course of 31 Saturdays beginning tomorrow.

Safe and Sound Saturdays are free for club members. Activities include homework assistance, a reading club, arts and crafts classes, free swim and swim lessons, indoor soccer and basketball instructional leagues.

Red Mass: The Fall River Diocese will hold a Red Mass for judges, attorneys and others who work in the justice system Sunday at 3 p.m. in St. Mary’s Cathedral, 327 2nd St.

The homilist will be the Rev. J. Bryan Hehir, president of Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Boston and a faculty member at Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Garden Club news: The Fall River Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Union United Methodist Church, Highland Avenue. The program will be “The Buzz About Bees,” led by beekeeper Granger Jerome of Tiverton.

Breakfast briefing: Former New England Telephone CEO Paul O’Brien, will speak about the Early Education for All Campaign at The Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Briefing Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the Chamber boardroom, 200 Pocasset St.

The mission of the campaign is to ensure that every child has access to a high-quality pre-kindergarten education and a full school-day public kindergarten. Tickets are $10 for non-Chamber members. For more information or to register, call the Chamber at 676-8226.

Swansea

At the library: Swansea Free Public Library, 69 Main St., will celebrate the 10th annual teen read week beginning Sunday through Oct. 20. During the week, the library will a “teen reading challenge,” a short story contest, a literary movie night, and a talent show and ice cream sundae party.

Teens can sign up at the library for both the reading challenge and the short story contest. Book logs are available at the circulation desk and must be submitted by Oct. 20. Short story entry forms are also available at the library and must be submitted by Oct. 18. For more information, call 674-9609.

Westport

At the Council on Aging: Carl Bissonnette will perform at Westport Senior Center, 75 Reed Rd., Wednesday at noon.
