It was kudos to those who went “above and beyond the call of duty” during an awards banquet put on by the USS Saratoga Museum Foundation, which is dedicated to turning the aircraft carrier into a museum that will be docked at Davisville in North Kingstown.

On Aug. 4, about 100 supporters crowded into East Greenwich’s Post Office Café for the celebration. Those honored included the North Kingstown Town Council and R.I. Sen. J. Michael Lenihan.
