Awards to those combating autism

The Groden Network, which offers services to people with autism and related developmental disabilities, handed out awards on March 23 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.
Some 310 guests attended the event which brought in $40,000.
The honorees included a dedicated parent, Claudia Swiader; Channel 10’s Barbara Morse Silva and R.J. Heim; Providence Journal staff writer Felice J. Freyer; Dr. Ellen Nelson; and the team who worked on opening a new residential home: Jean DeSimone, Charles Dyer, Donald Cordner and Victoria Sailer.
