Plainfolk opens Riverfront Series

The Pawtucket Riverfront Concert Series begins on Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m., in Veterans Amphitheater (next to Pawtucket City Hall) on Roosevelt Avenue. Plainfolk, a six-member folk-music ensemble, kicks off the series, which continues on Sunday, July 13, with longtime Celtic stalwarts Pendragon and on July 20 with the 16-piece Arthur Medeiros Swing Band.
Other dates are Aug. 10 (the Soul Ambition Band playing blues, jazz, reggae and funk), Aug. 17 (Burrillville-based Charlene Marie backed by Nashville Bound) and Aug. 24 (classic ’50s and ’60s rock with Vin Ames and She-Bop). All shows in the series are free.
