Lifebeat
Indian storyteller, flutist
05/22/2008 01:00 AM EDT
Once upon a time (okay, this Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m.) in a land far, far away (actually Miantonomi Memorial Park in Newport) a Native-American storyteller shared his art. He goes by the name of Tchin, a Blackfoot/Narragansett artist who, in addition to telling traditional Native-American stories, also plays flute.
His performance, sponsored by the Aquidneck Land Trust, is free to the public.
The park is bordered by Route 138 and Hillside and Girard avenues. For more information, call (401) 849-2799 or visit www.aquidnecklandtrust.org.
