Boat show comes ashore in Newport

The Newport Spring Boat Show runs Friday through Sunday. About half the boats for sale will be shown on land, the other half in the water. All are ready to be launched for the season.

The 34th annual Newport Spring Boat Show will bring hundreds of 35- to 65-foot power yachts and sailboats to the Newport Yachting Center, America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, tomorrow through Sunday. About half the boats will be shown on land, and the other half in the water. All are for sale and ready to be launched for the season. There will also be all kinds of boating equipment for sale, and information on services and products will be available from exhibitors. New this year will be a Marine Consignment Tent selling used marine equipment. Educational seminars are offered on all three days of the show.
Advance discount tickets are available online. Tomorrow is “First Dibs” Benefit Preview Day: Tickets are $13 in advance online or $15 at the gate. Proceeds from the Preview Day go to the Bassmaster CastingKids Scholarship Program.
Saturday and Sunday tickets are $8 online and $10 at the gate. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult, and Sunday is Military Day, with tickets half-price with military ID.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday; the show closes at 5 p.m. Sunday.
