Funny by the Sea
Bad can be good. Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck makes a case with The Producers. The play, created by Mel Brooks, is about two con men who set out to produce a stage musical in the hope that it bombs, and they’ll make off with the investors’ money. But the audience finds that really awful can be really funny. The show is at 8 tonight, and runs through Aug. 31. The theater’s at 364 Cards Pond Rd., Matunuck. For tickets, $39 to $49, call (401) 782-8587 or visit www.theatrebythesea.com.
